That’s the gist of the Running-in instructions sticker on my 2000 M5.

Seems reasonable.
Officer:
“Son, do you know how fast you were going?”
Tapas:
“Yes
officer, this is a new car the instructions clearly state to keep it below 106 MPH and 5500 rpm’s. Therefore I was going exactly 105 mph.”

Lol
I have like 134k miles on mine, so I’d probably be clocked going a bit faster.

I would be in big trouble in a car with that kind of speed potential.

I thought the same.
But my fear of wrecking it has kept me in check lol

Nah. Lots of wide open roads in Montana. You'd have all the fun. The police are too busy with all the blotter calls you post to care about someone driving fast.

I’ve been pulled over three times in Montana, only ticketed once. I was doing 79 in a 65 zone in a 1968 buick electra. The other two times I was doing
82 in a 65-
warning, and 78 in a 55-warning.

The owners manual for my E90 M3 says about the same thing.

The one time I remember seeing a cop in Montana , traffic was flowing about 90 on the interstate, and the cop passed me, no lights or anything, just cruising

For a few years there was no speed limit. I did a Butte to Missoula run in my Datsun 240z in about 65 minutes! I think I averaged 95 mph.

This was going through Bozeman I think. Pretty sure it was posted at 65.
